Julius Asal
The deluxe edition of the DG album "Scriabin – Scarlatti" by Julius Asal, a promising German pianist, innovatively unites two composers whose works are rarely considered together. Asal presents his debut recording for Deutsche Grammophon as a dreamlike journey through different eras and emotional states. For the recordings, he used two Steinway grand pianos to create both rich, dark soundscapes and crystal-clear acoustics. The edition includes Scriabin's First Piano Sonata, selected preludes and études, and six sonatas by Scarlatti. It also features five exclusive, previously unreleased pieces: one composition each by Scarlatti and Scriabin, an improvisation inspired by Scriabin, and two original compositions by Asal.
