Deutsche Grammophon is now releasing this outstanding collection as a new edition in a 5-CD box set. The nine-time Grammy Award-winning ensemble, founded in 1976 and whose impressive career will conclude this October, has created a lasting legacy in the Shostakovich repertoire with these interpretations. Among the highlights of their final season was the conclusion of a Shostakovich cycle at London's Southbank Centre.
