Daniel Barenboim
In 2022, Daniel Barenboim released a personal collection entitled 'ENCORES', specially recorded at the Pierre Boulez Saal in Berlin. This collection of miniature masterpieces was first released digitally and later, in May, on CD and vinyl. The album includes selected pieces by composers such as Albéniz, Chopin, Debussy, Liszt, and Schubert—all favorite encores of the pianist. Despite being recorded during the COVID-19 lockdowns, when live concerts were still unthinkable, Barenboim creates a special intimacy that lends each piece a unique character. This release is part of Deutsche Grammophon's celebration of his 80th birthday, with the artist himself emphasizing how music is constantly evolving, regardless of how often a particular work is performed.
