Album insights
With the support of TV channel ARTE, Daniel Hope created a unique concert format during the cultural and societal lockdown by transforming his living room into a high-tech television studio. This led to an impressive collection of pieces for violin and piano, ranging from Schubert's "An die Musik" and Rachmaninov's "Vocalise" to Mancini's "Moon River" and Weill's "Lost in the Stars." The collaboration also featured distinguished guests such as soul singer Joy Denalane, rapper Max Herre, actress Iris Berben, top trumpeter Till Brönner, and Max Raabe. These artists enthusiastically accepted Daniel Hope's invitation to join him musically. Pianist and composer Christoph Israel accompanied the violinist throughout many pieces on the piano from the start, delivering a series of outstanding arrangements.
