Album insights

VOICES, described by Richter as "a place for contemplation," emerged as a response to our tumultuous political environment and the ongoing need for compassion. Following this conception, VOICES 2 builds upon the concept of a "place for contemplation," deepening its impact. While the initial project focuses on the text of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and its uplifting vision - starting with Eleanor Roosevelt's 1949 recording of the declaration followed by excerpts read by a global community of 70 voices - VOICES 2 creates a meditative, musical space for reflection on the ideas sparked by the original recording. This is the latest release from the groundbreaking artist who introduced the seminal composition "Sleep" in 2015, providing an escape from the constraints of the digital era and evolving into a classic phenomenon with over 450 million streams. As pandemic-induced anxiety continues to contribute to sleep issues, this album takes center stage once again, particularly as March marks World Sleep Day annually.
