Fabio Luisi To mark the 150th anniversary of Arnold Schoenberg's birth, we are presenting a comprehensive edition of his orchestral works in collaboration with the Danish National Symphony Orchestra and conductor Fabio Luisi.
This multi-year project comprises over ten hours of music and aims to present Schoenberg's fascinating compositions from a new perspective. The first release in this series is the evocative tone poem "Verklärte Nacht" (Transfigured Night) in Schoenberg's own orchestral arrangement from 1943, inspired by Richard Dehmel's poem about love, understanding, and devotion on a moonlit night. The digital album will be released on September 13, 2024, Schoenberg's birthday, and features a cover painted by Schoenberg himself, which serves as the leitmotif for the entire edition.
