With her seventh album, "Traces of You," Anoushka Shankar sets a significant milestone in her musical journey. The collaboration with British-Indian producer Nitin Sawhney, renowned for his blend of electronic and Eastern sounds, allowed her to seamlessly integrate diverse cultural influences. London, Anoushka's hometown, provided the perfect backdrop. However, the album isn't solely driven by artistic harmony; it was inspired by the idea that everything in life leaves an indelible mark—a concept Anoushka has experienced through her personal relationships and multicultural daily life. During the album's production, she had to cope with the death of her father, which noticeably impacted the songwriting.
