Gidon Kremer, Kremerata Baltica

Duration78 Min

Gidon Kremer releases his new album "New Seasons" on Deutsche Grammophon.

The theme of the seasons is present in many of the recordings and reflects Kremer's ambition to build musical bridges between the past and present. The connection between music and the seasons is fundamental for Kremer, as they represent essential elements of life. His album features contemporary works, including Philip Glass's Violin Concerto No. 2 "The American Four Seasons," which builds on the success of his first concerto. With "New Seasons," Kremer aims to demonstrate that soulful music is boundless and can resonate with everyone. In addition to Glass, the album also includes works by Arvo Pärt, Giya Kancheli, and Shigeru Umebayashi. Kremer is accompanied on the recording by the Kremerata Baltica, a chamber orchestra he founded about two decades ago, which has since gained international acclaim.
