Menahem Pressler Menahem Pressler, considered the piano chamber musician of the 20th century, shaped the renowned Beaux Arts Trio for over 53 years, which he founded in 1955 with Daniel Guilet and Bernard Greenhouse.

After the trio disbanded in 2008, the then 80-year-old Pressler surprisingly launched a successful solo career. The pianist, born in Magdeburg, who had to flee the Nazis in 1939, had already experienced his musical breakthrough in 1946 at the Debussy Competition in San Francisco, where he won first prize. This award opened new doors for him and led to his move to the USA. French music played a significant role in his artistic output, which is also reflected in his later recordings.
