Album insights

The Vienna Boys' Choir excels in performing Strauss's music, which embodies the essence of Vienna. Since the 1920s, the waltzes and polkas by the Strauss family have been a steady feature in the choir's concert repertoire. They have graced the traditional New Year's concert of the Vienna Philharmonic six times. The first recording of the "Blue Danube Waltz" featuring the Vienna Boys' Choir was released in 1933. "Tales from the Vienna Woods" was recorded in 1937, followed by an entire Strauss album in 1939 in the United States, with the latest one coming out in 1999. Clearly, it's high time for a fresh release!
