Manfred Honeck. Characteristic
With her debut album, "Beethoven and Beyond," María Dueñas presents an original interpretation of Beethoven's Violin Concerto. The recording was made live at the Musikverein in Vienna, accompanied by the Vienna Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Manfred Honeck. A distinctive feature of this recording is the cadenzas composed by Dueñas herself, which can be heard in each movement. The album is complemented by well-known works by Kreisler, Saint-Saëns, Spohr, Wieniawski, and Ysaÿe, resulting in a diverse selection for violin and orchestra. As a supplement to the album, Dueñas has also produced an additional CD featuring interpretations of the cadenzas by these five composers for the first movement of Beethoven's concerto.
