Announced on 11th October, the Berlin Philharmonic and Daniel Barenboim have released their CD featuring works by César Franck and Gabriel Fauré. In June 2023, Barenboim conducted a special French-themed program with the Berlin Philharmonic, featuring Franck's Symphony in D Minor and Fauré's orchestral suite from Maeterlinck's play Pelléas et Mélisande. The exceptional concert marked a significant milestone, prompting Barenboim to preserve it through a recording for DG, showcasing their enduring artistic partnership. This year marks the 60th anniversary of Barenboim's first joint performance with the Berlin Philharmonic as a solo pianist, and he made his debut as a conductor with the orchestra in 1969. Furthermore, this year also commemorates the 100th death anniversary of Fauré.
