Album insights

Alice Sara Ott releases her tenth album with Deutsche Grammophon titled "Echoes Of Life." The album features Frédéric Chopin's 24 Préludes, along with seven contemporary works by various composers, including a piece composed by Francesco Tristano specifically for this album and a composition by Alice Sara Ott herself inspired by Mozart's Lacrimosa. In these modern compositions from the 20th and 21st centuries, the pianist places the piano cycle within a contemporary framework. Each of the seven "Interludes" holds a personal autobiographical moment of Ott, meticulously detailed in the album booklet. "Echoes Of Life" serves as a heartfelt reflection on thoughts and moments that shape and transform our lives. The album narrates a journey of transformation that I embarked upon to become the person and artist I see myself as today. By performing music from composers who challenged conventions in their time and redefined music, I aim to carry forward their spirit as a classical musician, refusing to simply uphold past traditions with their limitations.
