Serenade in C Major, K. 648 "A Very Little Night Music" (Version for 2 Violins, Cello & Harpsichord)

Dr. Ulrich Leisinger's Leadership

The International Mozarteum Foundation Salzburg, under the leadership of Dr. Ulrich Leisinger, investigated a previously unknown piece by Mozart. The "Ganz kleine Nachtmusik" or Serenade in C was discovered in the music libraries of the Leipzig Municipal Libraries as part of the Carl Ferdinand Becker Collection. This discovery was made during the revision of the Köchel catalogue, which documents Mozart's musical output. The string trio, consisting of seven short movements, was composed by Mozart in his youth, presumably in the late 1760s. On September 19, 2024, the chamber music work premiered in Salzburg, with Unitel recording the ensemble. The artists Haruna Shinoyama, Neža Klinar, Philipp Comploi, and Florian Birsak presented the work to the audience. An early interpretation was released on Apple Music and Apple Music Classical on October 4, 2024.
