Bruce Liu & Juraj Valčuha perform Chopin, Schumann & Walker

Bruce Liu makes his debut with the Houston Symphony joining the orchestra and its Music Director Juraj Valčuha with Chopin's youthful Piano Concerto No. 1 – a work that is a perfect fit for the Canadian-Chinese virtuoso's sublime touch, liquid technique and singing tone. Completing the programme, Valčuha conducts George Walker's Icarus in Orbit – a vivid, concentrated musical retelling of the Greek myth – and Schumann's stirring Symphony No. 2.
