Hélène Grimaud & Konstantin Krimmel: Songs by Brahms and Silvestrov

Young baritone Konstantin Krimmel joins forces with pianist Hélène Grimaud for a programme filmed in June 2024 at the Konzerthaus in Dortmund, continuing a critically acclaimed collaboration already showcased on two Deutsche Grammophon albums. And it’s the repertoire from those albums that features here as they juxtapose Brahms’s Lieder und Gesänge, Op. 32 – one of the composer’s most personal, reflective song collections – with a selection of the evocative Silent Songs by Ukrainian composer Valentin Silvestrov, a composer whom Grimaud has championed for a large part of her career.
