Brazilian lyricism meets the American songbook as Eliane Elias takes the stage at Munich’s Philharmonie im Gasteig in 1991, joined by Jay Randall Anderson and Adam Nussbaum. Her own pieces — "Campari and Soda", "Cross Currents" and "Implosive" — set the tone, poised between rhythmic drive and melodic clarity. Antônio Carlos Jobim features prominently, with a medley of "Waters of March" and "Água de Beber" as well as "Desafinado", while Jerome Kern’s "The Way You Look Tonight" and Amilton Godói’s "Choro" broaden the frame. Anderson’s supple bass and Nussbaum’s alert, finely detailed drumming support Elias’s precise touch and fluent sense of swing at the piano.
