John Williams – The Berlin Concert Shortly before his 90th birthday, the renowned American film composer John Williams made his debut as conductor with the Berlin Philharmonic.
The Tagesspiegel described the concert as an extraordinary evening. From the very first notes, the famous melodies from Hollywood – including works such as Star Wars, Harry Potter, and Indiana Jones – filled the hall and captivated the audience. The album "John Williams – The Berlin Concert" pays tribute to what Rolling Stone considers arguably the greatest soundtrack composer of all time and captures the special atmosphere of this remarkable event with one of the world's leading orchestras. Under Williams' direction, the musicians unleash an outstanding range of sound and lend his selection of film music a special intensity and expressiveness. Rolling Stone emphasizes that the films benefit more from Williams than vice versa. The album includes pieces from Harry Potter, Jurassic Park, Superman, and, of course, Star Wars. The release will be available as a limited 2-CD edition in a high-quality digipak with gold-colored embellishments, as an exclusive LP set with two 180g vinyl records, and in a limited deluxe edition, which will also be available as a download and stream. In addition to the two CDs, the deluxe edition exclusively includes the concert video on two Blu-rays with stereo, 5.1 surround sound, and Dolby Atmos® audio in a DVD-format digipak.
