Kian Soltani
Cellist Kian Soltani, born in Bregenz in 1992 to Iranian parents, is one of the most outstanding artists of his generation. From an early age, he developed a close connection to Vorarlberg, which has always been his home. At the same time, his family's heritage shaped him, so he grew up between two cultures. Through his musical achievements, such as winning the International Paulo Cello Competition in Helsinki and receiving the Leonard Bernstein Award, Soltani gained international recognition. On his debut album, HOME, he combines the music of Schubert and Schumann with contemporary Iranian works by Reza Vali, thus artistically expressing his dual heritage. Together with pianist Aaron Pilsan, whose life story shares similarities with his own, Soltani succeeds in conveying this feeling of home in a unique way through his music.
