Album insights

Seong-Jin Cho, the pianist and winner of the 2015 Chopin Competition, embarks on a journey of discovery into the realm of Claude Debussy just before the great composer's centennial death anniversary. Following his successful Chopin albums, Cho presents a compilation of Debussy's most beloved and notable works. Among these are the Suite Bergamasque cycle, featuring the mesmerizing "Clair de lune," and Children's Corner. Although titled as such, Cho remarks that the latter is considered "adult music" by many pianists. Describing "Images" as a true masterpiece, he portrays it as incredibly atmospheric and deeply poetic.
