This striking symphony in three movements has been frequently performed since its premiere, but rarely has it achieved such compelling power as recently with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Lithuanian conductor Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla.
With this interpretation, the Requiem acquires a new relevance for the present day.
