Chor des Bayerischen Rundfunks (Bavarian Radio Chorus) was founded in 1946. In 2003 Mariss Jansons became chief conductor of both ensembles. In 2005 Peter Dijkstra assumed the position of artistic director of the chorus. Because of the special homogeneity of its sound as well as its stylistic versatility, the ensemble enjoys the highest reputation throughout the world.
