A Summer of Musical Highlights: The Rheingau Music Festival 2025 Program

The 2025 program promises exceptional concert experiences from 21 June to 6 September. The 38th festival season bears the inspiring motto "A Summer Full of Music" and features an impressive range of events, from symphonic concerts to intimate chamber music evenings. Opening Concert: A Traditional Start in a Historic Setting

The opening concert takes place in the magnificent basilica of Eberbach Abbey. Under the direction of Alain Altinoglu Charles Gounod’s St. Cecilia Mass will be performed by the hr-Sinfonieorchester Frankfurt and the MDR Radio Choir. A second concert on 22 June at the Kurhaus Wiesbaden features Italian pianist Beatrice Rana performing works by Maurice Ravel completing the festive opening.

Eberbach Abbey forms the historical core of the event. Both the opening and closing concerts take place in the venerable basilica of this former Cistercian monastery, surrounded by a uniquely spiritual atmosphere.

Kurhaus Wiesbaden: Wilhelminian Grandeur for World Stars

Wiesbaden’s Kurhaus is one of the four main venues of the festival. The splendid Friedrich-von-Thiersch Hall, with its lavish Belle Époque décor, impresses with its outstanding acoustics.

Schloss Johannisberg: Aristocratic Ambience

Schloss Johannisberg offers an intimate setting for chamber music in the Fürst-von-Metternich Hall. After a three-year break, the popular summer celebration with fireworks returns—uniting various musical genres from classical to funk in a spectacular format.
