Bruce Liu joins Gianandrea Noseda and the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia for a thrilling programme from the Rheingau Musik Festival. The young Canadian-Chinese pianist – who shot to fame with his victory at the International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw in 2021 – is the soloist in Rachmaninoff's ever-popular Piano Concerto No. 2, while Noseda puts the Rome-based orchestra through its paces in Respighi's early Burlesca and Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade, a brilliant orchestral showpiece inspired by Tales from 1001 Nights.
