Bruce Liu plays Chopin, Ravel & Liszt

In a recital from the Fondation Louis Vuitton, Canadian-Chinese virtuoso and winner of the 2021 International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw Bruce Liu presents a scintillating programme of music by three of the most important composers for his instrument. He begins with Chopin: the early Rondo à la mazur, the alternately lyrical and fiery Ballade No. 2 and the bravura Variations on "Là ci darem la mano" from Mozart's Don Giovanni. Then follow the crystalline brilliance and beautifully mixed colours of Ravel's Miroirs and, as a grand finale, Liszt's barnstorming Réminiscences de Don Juan, in which themes from Mozart's opera are incorporated into one of the most demanding showpieces in the repertoire.
