Rising Stars: Axelle Fanyo, Soprano

Axelle Fanyo joins the Rising Stars series on STAGE+ with a varied and thought-provoking recital of 20th-century repertoire. The French soprano – and Grand Prix-winner at the 2021 Nadia and Lili Boulanger Competition – presents music ranging from Ravel's perfumed and occasionally confrontational exoticism via the Gershwins' Porgy and Bess to cabaret songs and chansons by Schoenberg. Bolcom and Weil, as well as the traditional spiritual "Sometimes I Feel Like a Motherless Child". Joined by an array of musical friends, she presents a showcase of the artistry that makes her one of the most promising young singers of her generation.
