With finally-etched characterizations within beautifully designed period sets, this performance captures all the quicksilver wit and mellow wisdom that have made the opera such a favourite, while an all-Italian line-up of principals – led by Alberto Mastromarino's larger-than-life Falstaff – bring the comedy to life with irresistible style.
