Album insights

Renowned French violinist Renaud Capuçon is celebrated globally as a soloist and chamber musician. Apart from directing several festivals, he is recognized for supporting young artists and commissioning compositions. Recently, he signed a contract with Deutsche Grammophon and has swiftly released his first album with the label. Teaming up with pianist Martha Argerich, the duo showcases three exquisite violin and piano sonatas. Having performed together for two decades, Capuçon and Argerich present a live recording from the April 2022 Osterfestival in Aix-en-Provence. This poignant performance, dedicated to the late American pianist Nicholas Angelich, features works by Schumann, Beethoven, and Franck. Capuçon emphasizes the authenticity of the live experience, citing the unique artistic synergy revealed with Argerich on stage.
