T.S. Elliot
With his debut album, "Time Present and Time Past," Mahan Esfahani continues a harpsichord release series with Deutsche Grammophon after more than three decades. The poems of T.S. Elliot served as the creative basis for the album, which combines Baroque works by Bach and Corelli with minimalist music by composers such as Reich and Gorecki. Esfahani's sensitive performances will appeal not only to lovers of the historical instrument; the close collaboration with the ensemble Concerto Köln, renowned for its expertise in historical performance practice, also results in a particularly authentic sound.
