This album could very well turn out to be one of the biggest surprises of the year!
The reason lies not only in its fascinating concept, but also in one of the most exciting up-and-coming talents on the international conducting scene – the Spanish maestro Pablo Heras-Casado. The collection highlights Farinelli's work as an impresario, underscoring his significant contribution to the Spanish musical landscape. Naturally, the work also includes the enchanting music that once delighted the Spanish monarch. One example is the soothing aria "Alto Giove" by Porpora, which was performed at the musical evenings of the time and is interpreted by countertenor Bejun Mehta.
The reason lies not only in its fascinating concept, but also in one of the most exciting emerging talents on the international conducting scene – the Spanish maestro Pablo Heras-Casado.
