Rafael Kubelík Between
1967 and 1971, Rafael Kubelík conducted the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, producing one of the most important complete recordings of Mahler's symphonies, which continues to be highly regarded by both critics and audiences.[4][3] Kubelík consistently demonstrated a great passion for Gustav Mahler's symphonic works throughout his artistic career. This early complete recording is considered a milestone, as Mahler's music still met with skepticism from audiences at that time. After conducting orchestras such as the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, and the Metropolitan Opera in New York, Kubelík found his musical home with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra in 1961, where he served as chief conductor until his retirement due to illness in 1979.
