Twelve months ago, Seong-Jin Cho won one of the most prestigious international piano prizes in Warsaw. Now, the highly gifted pianist joins the Deutsche Grammophon roster of artists, which already includes renowned musicians such as Martha Argerich, Maurizio Pollini, Rafal Blechacz, and Yundi. The album Cho released after the competition became the world's best-selling classical album of 2015 and achieved triple platinum status in Korea within a week. With this debut recording, Cho presents Frédéric Chopin's First Piano Concerto with the London Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Gianandrea Noseda, as well as all four of Chopin's Ballades. A live broadcast from Berlin's Yellow Lounge, streamed via the Welt/N24 Facebook group, was recently watched by 250,000 viewers. A major concert tour by Cho is planned for spring 2017.
