Celebrating its 275th anniversary, the Gewandhaus Orchestra in Leipzig garners attention in the world of classical music. The esteemed conductor Andris Nelsons also marks his debut as the new maestro of the orchestra. For this occasion, he will be conducting Bruckner's Symphony No. 7, a piece closely intertwined with the orchestra's rich history. In 1884, this symphony had its premiere at Gewandhaus. In this performance, Bruckner's Symphony No. 7 will be accompanied by Wagner's "Siegfried's Death and Funeral March," revealing intriguing parallels in the musical language and expressive power of both composers.
