'Destination Rachmaninoff – Departure' is the first of two albums that launch Trifonov's complete recording of the famous Russian composer's piano concertos. It includes the second and fourth piano concertos, as well as Rachmaninoff's piano arrangement of three movements from Bach's Violin Partita in E major. The recording invites the listener on a journey of discovery and simultaneously celebrates Rachmaninoff's virtuosity at the piano.
