Star Pianist Jan Lisiecki
Canadian star pianist Jan Lisiecki is releasing his acclaimed recording of all five Beethoven piano concertos for the first time as a high-quality 5-LP box set. Although Lisiecki believes that the composer did not conceive the piano concertos as a cycle, they nevertheless belong together, as they present a nuanced picture of Beethoven. From the first two, which still pay homage to Mozart's legacy, through the characterfully distinct Nos. 3 and 4, to the majestic 'Emperor' Concerto as the finale – this diversity particularly fascinates the pianist. In the dual role of soloist and conductor, Lisiecki is accompanied by the world-renowned Academy of St Martin in the Fields orchestra. The release of this vinyl box set in January 2025 will be accompanied by a major German tour, with concerts in cities including Munich, Hamburg, Cologne, Frankfurt, Dresden, and Berlin.
