Dragon Songs – Lang Lang plays Melodies from China

Lang Lang returns to his roots in this film by Benedict Mirow that intersperses performances of favourite Chinese melodies with interview material in which the pianist introduces the songs and shares what they mean to him. For the project, Lang Lang brought together together master musicians from the Central Conservatory in Beijing, where he studied for five years from the age of nine. “We recorded some of the music in the auditorium," the pianist says. "It made me so nervous because that was where I took all my piano exams. Before we started, I said to myself: 'No wrong notes!'"
