La concordia de' pianeti

Veronica Cangemi

A remarkable discovery in the archives is Caldara's 'La Concordia de' pianeti' – recorded and revived for the first time worldwide. This theatrical piece of music, situated between serenade and opera, was created for the imperial court of the Austrian ruler Charles VI. The composition impresses with its artful arias, enchanting melodies, and harmonious duets, performed by first-rate contemporary interpreters, including Daniel Behle and Franco Fagioli. Fagioli takes on the role of the famous castrato Carestini on this recording. Andrea Marcon discovered and edited the work. Together with soprano Veronica Cangemi, he forms an exceptional ensemble that makes this composition a valuable addition to the repertoire. The recording, made partly in concert and partly in the studio, unites outstanding singers in the central roles.
