AboutDaniel Behle

Daniel Behle is one of Germany's most versatile tenors, equally successful in concert, lieder, and opera. His repertoire spans from Baroque masterpieces to classical and romantic works, as well as compositions from the 20th and 21st centuries.
In April 2014, he made his acclaimed debut in Salzburg as Matteo in Strauss's "Arabella" under the baton of Christian Thielemann. In summer 2014, he performed Henry Morosus in "Die schweigsame Frau" at the Bavarian State Opera. In 2015, he will portray Oronte in Handel's "Alcina" at the Théâtre La Monnaie in Brussels, return to Aix en Provence as Belmonte, and sing Erik in "Der fliegende Holländer" for the first time at Oper Frankfurt.
He performs concerts with ensembles such as the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden/Christian Thielemann, the RSB/Marek Janowski, the Czech Philharmonic/Jiří Bělohlávek, the Wiener Akademie/Martin Haselböck, and the Bachakademie Stuttgart/Hans-Christoph Rademann.
As a lieder singer, he captivates audiences at the Schubertiade, the Prinzregententheater Munich, the Kölner Philharmonie, the Laeiszhalle Hamburg, the Beethovenhaus Bonn, Wigmore Hall London, and the Richard Strauss Festival Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
The artist also makes a name for himself as a composer: a significant milestone in his work is his arrangement of Schubert's "Winterreise," which he premiered in summer 2013 with the Oliver Schnyder Trio. The work will be released on CD next winter, followed by its UK premiere at Wigmore Hall in 2015.
Daniel Behle's portrayal of Artabano on the Grammy-nominated recording of Vinci's "Artaserse" was enthusiastically received, as have his six solo CDs. His debut album with Decca is scheduled for release in July 2014.
