The vocal works of Johann Sebastian Bach retain their relevance in the 21st century and continue to touch universal human emotions. To commemorate '330 Years of Bach,' ARIA presents a collection of 18 carefully selected arias that reflect the composer's Baroque versatility. This collection, 'Bach's Most Beautiful Arias,' includes well-known pieces from the Christmas Oratorio ('Great Lord, O Mighty King'), the cantatas (Coffee Cantata and Peasant Cantata), both Passions (John and Matthew with 'Have Mercy, My God' and 'Make Yourself Pure, My Heart'), and the Mass in B Minor. Renowned ensembles such as the English Baroque Soloists under John Eliot Gardiner, Musica Antiqua Köln with Reinhard Goebel, and The Academy of Ancient Music under Christopher Hogwood will perform together with outstanding vocal soloists, including Magdalena Kozená, Anne Sofie von Otter, Renée Fleming, Emma Kirkby, Fritz Wunderlich, Andreas Scholl, and Thomas Quasthoff.
