Pianist Yuja Wang
The extraordinary pianist Yuja Wang, born in Beijing in 1987 and now based in New York, proudly presents her latest release – a recording of her performance at the Vienna Konzerthaus from April 2022. The diverse program showcases various facets of her talent: her fiery virtuosity interprets rarer compositions by Ligeti, while her mature musical expressiveness shines through in the works of Beethoven and Scriabin. Her artistic imagination unfolds particularly impressively in the sublime short pieces by Albéniz. Wang, who has been exclusively signed to Deutsche Grammophon since 2009, emphasizes: “Every performance has to be different – organic. I have to play to feel alive.” For her, each piece in her repertoire should stand on its own and authentically reflect her current feelings.
