For the first time, a previously unreleased concert by the world’s greatest tenor comes to the screen – streaming exclusively on STAGE+. In 1955, aged 19, Pavarotti travelled with his father and the Società Chorale G. Rossini from Modena to compete at the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod. To their surprise, they won – a moment Pavarotti later described as pivotal, inspiring him to dream of becoming a professional singer. Forty years later, in 1995, he kept his promise to go back to the Welsh village and, at the peak of his fame, he stepped onto the Pavilion stage before 4,500 people for a triumphant return.
