Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter & Co: A Tribute to Miles Davis

Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Ron Carter and Tony Williams – four central figures from Miles Davis’s most influential bands – come together here with trumpeter Wallace Roney for a tribute that is far more than an exercise in nostalgia. Captured during the Munich Klaviersommer in 1992, the set moves through music associated with Davis across several decades, from So What and All Blues to Pinocchio and Nefertiti. With musicians so closely connected to Davis’s musical world, this was a one-off occasion: a rare opportunity to hear this repertoire in the hands of artists who helped create it.
