Yellow Lounge: Daniel Hope & Anja Lechner – Silvestrov Celebration

Deutsche Grammophon presents a Yellow Lounge dedicated to the Ukrainian composer Valentin Silvestrov, who celebrated his 85th birthday on 30 September. ECM artist Anja Lechner performs the first set, accompanied by Pianist Raúl da Costa; after a short break, DG artist Daniel Hope presents the second set, accompanied by Alexey Botvinov. German cellist Anja Lechner has been playing and recording Silvestrov’s music for 20 years now, most recently on the ECM album "Hieroglyphs of the Night", and the composer wrote Augenblicke der Stille und Traurigkeit especially for her. Daniel Hope's new all-Silvestrov album is released on DG on the composer's birthday.
