Daniel Barenboim & West-Eastern Divan Orchestra – Live from Ravello

Ravello Festival

Production Date: 11/08/2008
98 Min

Originally due to take place at the historical 6,000-seat Roman Theatre in Amman, Jordan, as part of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra's 2008 tour, this concert was relocated to the Ravello Festival on Italy's Amalfi Coast as a result of security concerns. With a programme dedicated to Richard Wagner, it sees Daniel Barenboim conduct the Meistersinger Prelude and the Prelude and Liebestod from Tristan und Isolde alongside the complete first act of Die Walküre, which culminates in the rousing love duet between the Wälsung twins Siegmund and Sieglinde, sung here by Simon O'Neill and Waltraud Meier.
