In December 2018, Diapason magazine highlighted Ildar Abdrazakov as one of the most important interpreters of Attila in our time. The internationally acclaimed bass is among the leading artists who have shaped this role over the past half-century. For his recording, Abdrazakov deliberately chose arias from Verdi's central work, focusing particularly on dark, multifaceted characters such as Attila, Nabucco, Don Carlo, and Macbeth. In this impressive program of dramatic scenes and arias by the composer, Abdrazakov was accompanied by the Orchestre Métropolitain de Montréal under the direction of Yannick Nézet-Séguin.
