Mischa Maisky & Maximilian Maisky: Bach & Miniatures

Mischa Maisky comes with his son Maximilian at the piano to Utrecht's ConcertLab – an innovative new concert and recording space at the cutting edge of audio-visual technology. The programme begins with Mischa alone, performing one of the foundational masterpieces of the cello repertoire, Bach's Cello Suite No. 1 in G major, presented up-close as never before. The second half of the programme, meanwhile, brings a series of shorter works for cello and piano, ranging from the Romanticism of Brahms, Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninoff to De Falla's passionate Ritual Fire Dance.
