Yuja Wang in Berlin: Rachmaninoff, Scriabin & Prokofiev

Yuja Wang grabs attention from the first note in this recital and never lets it go. Having watched her mother, a dancer, rehearsing Swan Lake as a child, Wang was helped by Russian music to find her way to Western classics; and the works of Rachmaninoff, Scriabin and Prokofiev have accompanied the multi-award-winning pianist since the start of her ever-expanding career. Born in Beijing, raised in Canada and at home in almost every major city of the world, Wang performs an entirely Russian programme from the Philharmonie in Berlin with boundless imagination, jaw-dropping technical command, and transcendent power.
