Maurizio Pollini
In June 2022, the Italian pianist Maurizio Pollini recorded a new studio album with his son Daniele in Munich's Herkulessaal. Both shared a deep connection to Schubert's work. The recording encompasses three essential aspects of the Viennese composer's piano music: sonatas, short piece cycles, and four-hand compositions. Since Maurizio Pollini passed away in March 2024 at the age of 82, this recording became his last studio visit. Daniele Pollini reflects: "After my father's death, my perspective on this recording and its creation inevitably changed. An extraordinary moment became a unique, unrepeatable event. I feel immense gratitude for the opportunity to realize this Schubert album and to have participated in my father's final recording." Thus, this moving and profound album by two generations of musicians becomes both a legacy and a hopeful vision. The release will take place on October 25, 2024, digitally and on CD, accompanied by a booklet with notes on Paolo Petazzi's repertoire.
The album will be released on October 25, 2024, both digitally and on CD.
