Elīna Garanča On her album “Meditation,” Elīna Garanča, together with Karel Mark Chichon, the German Radio Philharmonic, and the Latvian Radio Choir, presents impressive soundscapes.
The selection ranges from works by important composers such as Gregorio Allegri, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Charles Gounod, Georges Bizet, Giacomo Puccini, and Pietro Mascagni to contemporary voices like William Gomez, Pēteris Vasks, and Uģis Prauliņš[4]. For musicians, it presents a particular challenge to musically capture those rare moments when the earthly and the otherworldly meet: They attempt to describe the magical state of complete weightlessness and the enrapturing sound of the music, in which time and space seem to be suspended, and a moment of profound emotion arises[4].
